Logistics Specialist/Material Handler - Vichy

About the role

The Logistics Specialist/Material Handler is responsible for handling logistics procedures, including goods preparation, shipping receipts, and shipment deliveries. This position oversees shipments to ensure alignment with expected quality and quantity, maintains accurate inventory records, produces reports, and adheres to policies and standards while working to enhance practices.

Responsibilities

• Receiving focus:
  • Receive incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies.
  • Safely load and unload trucks and trailers, following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Sort, scan, and stock receivables.
  • Inspect received items for damage, discrepancies, or defects.
  • Perform sampling of inbound raw chemicals.
• Shipping focus:
  • Use applicable computer programs to ensure all items are shipped in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review, verify, and follow customer shipping instructions and prepare outgoing shipments by packaging products securely and applying appropriate labeling.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipment per customer requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to complete assigned responsibilities and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with material handling, import/export, purchasing, procurement, and others to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
• Accurately record inventory levels and update databases and inventory systems.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of shipping and receiving areas.
• Obtain DOT/IATA Certification within 90 days of employment.
