Logistics Specialist I

Responsibilities

• Determine most efficient means of shipping, considering urgency of delivery, carrier’s ability to meet or exceed time requirements, cost, etc.
• Maintain records for all outbound shipments.
• Analyze shipping data and provide details as requested.
• Track and troubleshoot shipment deliveries and problems, and provide delivery confirmations when complete.
• Assist in identifying areas for improvements in all shipping/receiving functions.
• Afford assistance in the development of Shipping/Receiving processes and procedures.
• Responsible for On-Time Delivery (OTD) & metric achievement, expediting, tracking & reporting.
• Verify availability of product(s) and manufacturing lead time(s), are accurate and will meet customer requirements.
• Publish and present service and inventory metrics and results.
• Work closely with the business unit to understand customer requirements and forecasts.
• Work closely with manufacturing to ensure alignment to business requirements by setting and maintaining target inventory levels.
• Actively manage working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance.
• Maintain flexibility with work hours including weekly planning meeting with global headquarters.
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent, relevant experience.
• Experience: 1 to 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain within a manufacturing plant or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of procedures as they relate to material flow.
• Skills: MS Office Suite, Communication Skills, Demonstrated ability to multi-task and organizational skills, Strong desire to advance in the Supply Chain field.
