About the Role
The Logistics Specialist manages transportation execution and on-site control board operations for assigned lanes or modes, ensuring high-priority shipments flow smoothly and gate issues are resolved quickly. This role works directly with carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to coordinate special requests, manage exceptions, and track performance. The Specialist builds operational expertise across transportation modes and develops reporting to support decision-making.
The Logistics Specialist ensures Sunrun’s shipments move reliably while maintaining the integrity of on-site operations. By resolving complex exceptions at the gate and mentoring the entry-level team, this role helps Sunrun deliver on its commitments to customers and field teams with 100% accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Oversee control board on-site with logistics coordinator to plan daily Inbound and Outbound shipments
- Manage shipment bookings and execution for assigned lanes or carriers
- Ensure carrier compliance with service requirements and on-time pick-ups/deliveries
- Communicate with warehouses and internal teams to coordinate special requests and exceptions
- Track in-transit shipments, provide ETAs, and escalate delays to carriers and internal stakeholders
- Maintain transportation master data (weights, dimensions, freight classifications)
- Support carrier performance reporting and issue resolution
- Train and coach Logistics Coordinators in best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in transportation logistics or related field
- Strong knowledge of freight modes (road, rail, air, ocean) and carrier operations
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; ERP/TMS experience required (Oracle/OTM preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to manage escalations
- Organized and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Pay
Starting salary for this opportunity: $66,847.86 to $89,130.48. Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history.
