Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Specialist at FitzMark will manage customer accounts and daily operations including shipment tendering through final paperwork. They will develop strategies and build relationships with customers and carriers to optimize supply chain efficiency, increase reliability, and minimize costs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule transportation for inbound and outbound shipments
• Act as the main point of contact for customers and carriers providing proactive communication
• Provide customers with shipment information and ensure changes to orders are acknowledged and acted upon in a timely manner
• Work effectively and collaboratively with all departments and team members
• Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipment operations

Experience and Qualifications

• A High School Diploma is required
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, business, supply chain, or carrier sales is highly preferred
• At least 1 year of third-party logistics experience is preferred
• At least 1 year of sales and/or customer service experience is preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Superb verbal and written communication skills
• Strong professional phone presence
• Prowess in working independently and being a team player in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to negotiate and persuade
• Sense of urgency when resolving customer issues
• Attention to detail without sacrificing accuracy
• Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks in a high-stress environment
• Determination and tenacity with a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
