Logistics Specialist

About the role
As a Logistic Specialist, you'll successfully complete the Logistics Worker training progression program to perform the following:
- Order, receive, store, transport, and issue materials
- Prepare all necessary paperwork in connection therewith
- Become thoroughly familiar with stores routine and account procedures
Responsibilities
- Order, receive, store, transport, and issue materials
- Prepare all necessary papers in connection with material handling
- Perform and/or direct the operation (foreman) of a storeroom
- Keep accurate records of declared hazardous materials, perform testing procedures, and review test results following specific company and federal rules
- Responsible for storage of materials and equipment
- Receive, issue, and return material and equipment in storerooms, yards, or other temporary storage locations
- Inventory incoming materials to verify receipt of items on requisitions or invoices
- Fill orders or issue supplies from stock
- Conduct periodic and special inventories of materials
- Transport material to other departments or storerooms using hand trucks, fork lifts, or industrial vehicles
- Verify stock numbers and voltage types and transport equipment to job site
- Take oil samples from transformers and other electrical devices for PCB testing, mark PCB test results on oil-filled equipment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent
- 2+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a Class A CDL
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Knowledge of Spreadsheet software, inventory software, email software, and database software (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
