Logistics Specialist

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare all necessary customs clearance paperwork for import/export custom clearance
• Coordinate with freight forwarders & brokers to go through custom clearance procedure
• Dispatch & Scheduling
• Assign and schedule drivers, trucks, and carriers for daily delivery and pickup operations
• Optimize routing to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
• Monitor real-time transportation activities and proactively resolve delays or issues
• Communication & Coordination
• Serve as the communication link between drivers, carriers, warehouses, and customers
• Provide shipment updates and ensure customers are informed of delivery status
• Handle inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner
• Tracking & Documentation
• Maintain accurate shipment records, including bills of lading, PODs, and dispatch logs
• Track shipments in transit and update systems with status reports
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and other applicable transportation regulations
• Problem-Solving & Support
• Address unexpected issues such as breakdowns, delays, or load discrepancies
• Cookordinate with maintenance, warehouse, and operations teams to resolve challenges
• Escalate critical issues to management as needed

Qualifications and Experience

• College degree or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
• Proven Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a dispatcher, logistics coordinator, or in a transportation-related role
• Strong knowledge of logistics, routing, and transportation regulations
• Proficiency in dispatch software, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), and MS Office Suite
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Familiar with SAP will be a strong plus for this position
