About the role
Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) is seeking a Project Logistics Specialist to support the Micron Fab20 project. The Logistics Specialist will coordinate domestic and international multi-leg shipments, ensuring safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. This role supports the Logistics Lead in planning and executing project freight requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform domestic and international multi-leg shipment coordination to ensure safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods.
- Coordinate transportation activities with suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, project stakeholders, and site personnel.
- Perform transportation planning, shipment tracking, issue resolution, and logistics documentation for domestic and international shipments.
- Assist the Logistics Lead with Logistics Service Provider bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents within Bechtel policies.
- Prepare commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents for Logistics Service Providers.
- Ensure entry of shipment tracking data into the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other functional tools.
- Prepare logistics reports or performance metrics as required by the project.
- Audit and process Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures.
- Identify transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions.
- File and resolve Logistics Service Provider claims.
- Conduct logistics studies, including site and service provider facility visits.
- Organize import/export and customs documentation in accordance with requirements.
- Interact with the project supply chain management team to review logistics strategies considering cost, risk, and schedule.
- Integrate safety requirements and measures into all logistics activities.
- Attend logistics meetings and travel to ports of loading and discharge to supervise cargo operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, or 9 to 12 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of multimodal transport modes: airfreight, sea freight, containerized, LCL, breakbulk, barging, and domestic transportation, including oversize/overweight shipments.
- Knowledge of domestic and international trade and commercial terms.
- Strong logistics fundamentals and relevant project experience.
- Knowledge of industry packing, marking, and shipping requirements.
- Practical understanding of Incoterms (2020).
- Ability to resolve issues using professional concepts and company objectives creatively and effectively.
- Recognized as an individual contributor with a specialized skill set.
- Works on problems of diverse scope requiring data analysis and evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solutions.
- Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
