Summary
The logistics specialist manages all shipments through a Transportation Management System (TMS), coordinates with internal and external teams, and ensures timely delivery. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing shipments, communicating with customers and carriers, managing inventory, and resolving delivery issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates, processes, and reviews shipments to customers in the most cost-effective and timely manner.
- Creates Bill of Ladings, packing lists, NAFTA and other necessary documentation.
- Communicates with internal team members and external customers and carriers.
- Helps manage and resolve escalated situations with the APC logistics Manager.
- Plans and schedules transportation routes for maximum efficiency.
- Tracks shipments and maintains accurate records of inventory.
- Communicates with suppliers, carriers, and customers to ensure timely delivery.
- Implements cost-saving measures such as consolidating shipments or negotiating rates.
- Maintains compliance with transportation and logistics regulations.
- Monitors and improves logistics processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications
- Associate’s (A.S.) or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Logistics or Business; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
