Logistics Receiver - Blue Buffalo
About the role
As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for monitoring, auditing, and inspecting incoming ingredients/materials to ensure compliance of company, regulatory and industry established specifications and procedures.

- Evaluation/inspection of physical, chemical, and sanitary characteristics of raw ingredients/materials; products produced and/or packaging or other materials
- Collecting and documenting test data, sending/receiving analytical samples and results with process problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- Supporting operators with supplies and machine assembly/disassembly
- Able and willing to cross train on other positions and provide coverage when needed
- Responsible for sanitation/sanitization of required areas
- Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
- Absorbing and assisting in training new employees
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Stand up counterbalance forklift experience of 1 year or more
- Forklift experience (preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment)
- Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
- Experience in warehouse operations and use of WMS preferred
- Forklift license/certification or willing to obtain one
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to interact with digital systems used in daily tasks
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
- Willing to work in a tobacco free environment

Located in historic Joplin, at our Joplin Pet manufacturing site we produce Blue Buffalo dog food and dog treats. We foster a culture where we want our employees to be excited to come to work.
