LOGISTICS COURIER

About the role

The Logistics Courier at Carilion Clinic is responsible for transforming healthcare by managing supply chain logistics. This includes receiving, stocking, issuing, distributing, and shipping supplies to hospitals, companies, and services affiliated with Carilion Clinic. The role involves adhering to and performing all necessary documentation and computerization to ensure efficient and accurate operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cartons for damages and complete required documentation.
• Receive inventory and special order items, record quantities, compare receipts to product specifications, and report discrepancies to the Purchasing department.
• Carry and post goods on appropriate documentation and enter data into the computer inventory system.
• Pack orders for delivery to appropriate users and maintain delivery schedules.
• Provide Par Level service to various departments, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Complete all required documentation clearly and accurately.
• Ship freight daily via FedEx, UPS, and common carriers, and properly return goods to inventory.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Warehouse and material handling experience preferred.
• Valid Virginia driver's license required with a positive driving record.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Ability to perform in a constantly changing environment.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment used in standard warehouse operations.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include the ability to perform responsibilities and handle the heavy equipment of standard warehouse operations. Successful completion of orientation and competency validation for the position is also required.

Skills

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using warehouse management systems are essential.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $15.00 - $21.07 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Logistics Courier works a full-time day shift at Carilion Clinic’s facility located at 2823 Franklin Rd, Roanoke.
