Logistics Project Manager

Satair is seeking a Logistics Project Manager to join the Warehouse team in Dulles, VA. This role focuses on implementing global standards for the industrial environment, leading regional projects for warehouse space development, and introducing best-fit storage and transportation systems.

About the team

In support of Warehouse Operations, the team manages everything from receiving to packing and shipping of materials. The warehouse is central to operations, ensuring that Team Airbus members and customers receive the materials they need to succeed.

Working environment

Located minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport and approximately 30 miles from the U.S. Capitol, this site serves as the major parts distribution hub in the Americas. The facility operates 24/7 as a fulfillment center, featuring an Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support desk and Quality Assurance (QA) operations. The 20,000-square-foot warehouse includes Autostore technology to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Execution (60%)
  • Lead and execute high-impact logistics projects to improve and standardize 10 global warehouses, transportation networks, and repair activities.
  • Drive physical transformation of sites by managing space development, layout optimization, and material flow design.
  • Oversee the selection and introduction of best-in-class storage systems, transportation technologies, and material handling equipment.
• Strategic Planning & Standardization (20%)
  • Define global standards for material handling equipment, warehouse processes, and material flows to ensure consistency across all sites.
  • Support global capacity planning by conducting forecasts and analysis to align warehouse capabilities with future business needs.
• Stakeholder Management & Communication (15%)
  • Collaborate with commercial, supply chain, and local site leadership to align projects with business objectives.
  • Manage communication and report on project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Additional Responsibilities (5%)

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse, or industrial engineering.
  • Expertise in end-to-end project management, from initiation to closing.
  • Experience executing tenders for logistics equipment, including creating specifications and managing supplier selection.
  • Oversight of logistics projects involving CapEx investments and stakeholder management.
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and improving warehouse material flows, storage systems, and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to develop business cases, lead milestone/gate reviews, and manage project financials.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides).

Physical requirements

• Onsite or remote: 80/20 split (subject to change per Satair policy).
• Vision: Daily ability to see and read computer screens, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
• Hearing: Daily ability to participate in conversations in person, via teleconference or phone, and hear safety warnings or alarms on the production floor.
• Speaking: Daily ability to participate in conversations, meetings, and communications.
• Equipment Operation: Daily operation of personal computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, and electronic identification cards for building access.
• Carrying: Several times a week, able to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
• Lifting: Several times a week, able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 lbs/14 kg.
• Pushing/Pulling: Several times a month, able to push and pull small office furniture and equipment/tools.
• Sitting: Daily, able to sit for long periods during meetings or computer work.
• Squatting/Kneeling: Several times a month, able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items on low shelving.
• Standing: Daily, able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
• Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice (frequency varies).
• Walking: Daily, able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE includes safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as needed for site visits.

Pay

Pay range: $105,000 – $130,000 per year. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is determined by skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
