Logistics Planner

About the role

The Logistics Planner will partner with multiple cross-functional teams such as warehousing, customer service, deployment, sales, and marketing to support operational excellence within Dairy Foods, Purina Animal Nutrition, and WinField United divisions. This role is located at our corporate headquarters in Arden Hills, MN (in office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week).

Responsibilities

• Plan outbound and inbound transportation, track and trace shipments for on-time performance.
• Leverage transportation technology tools to improve load visibility.
• Facilitate internal conversations with transportation buyers regarding capacity and carrier service issues.
• Manage transportation events and enhance carrier utilization to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate all transportation-related activities, such as understanding freight bill payments and assisting Accounts Payable in resolution, entering transportation claims.
• Coordinate, direct, and own decision-making processes necessary to accomplish service goals and objectives.
• Create and foster strong relationships with internal and external business partners such as material resource planners, distribution centers, manufacturing personnel, customer service representatives, and carrier providers.
• Ensure that issues are addressed quickly and professionally.
• Identify and implement continuous process improvements by strategically developing, recommending, and cost-saving and/or service improvement programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 1+ years of logistics experience or related field.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• OTM (a plus).
• FourKites (a plus).
• Sonar.
• PowerBI.

Pay

Salary: $61,360 - $92,040. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
