Logistics Operations Planner I - Riverview, FL

About the role

Join our Managed Logistics Team as a Logistics Operations Planner and tackle complex transportation and logistics challenges. You’ll drive customer satisfaction and retention through freight operations load planning, account management, customer relationship building, and transportation strategy. This frontline role ensures finished goods, raw materials, medical equipment, and more reach their destinations efficiently.

The Logistics Operations Planner works proactively with the Operations Manager to reduce or prevent recurring delays or service failures. Typical freight services include complex and escalated shipment creation, quoting, shipment project management, cross-training, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

This position is located on-site at our office in Riverview, FL.

Responsibilities

• Answer inquiries from carriers, clients, and/or customers
• Investigate and resolve issues submitted by customers, carriers, and/or suppliers
• Act as a liaison between operations, carriers, and customers
• Prioritize workload based on collaboration with Operations Manager and Logistics Performance Director
• Identify cost savings and document issues (carrier, supplier, customer)
• Build relationships with customer contacts, carriers, and suppliers
• Create standard work instructions (SWI) and identify process improvements
• Practice continuous business improvements by reviewing procedures and work habits; implement steps to lower cost while increasing performance
• Daily interaction with internal staff, carriers, and customer personnel

Requirements

• Degree in Logistics or related field and/or 1+ years’ experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is preferred
• Ability to effectively express ideas orally or in writing and proactively communicate with individuals at all levels
• Work collaboratively with team members and establish/maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, or co-workers
• Demonstrated ability in process improvement and thinking outside the box to find solutions
