About the role

Our Georgia-Pacific facility in Palatka, FL is seeking a Logistics Material Handler. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career with a growing business! Team members will start their career in our Shipping department.

Schedule

The Material Handlers work a rotating 12‑hour shift on a schedule that rotates days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours. The work environment is non‑climate controlled and can be hot, humid and/or cold.

Pay

Starting hourly rate of $21.82 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of Material Handling equipment (e.g., Forklift/Tow Motor) to warehouse and deliver large rolls of paper and other materials used in the production of finished product
• Monitor, maintain, and operate palletizing machinery within the plant
• Utilize tablet device to move inventory accurately using SAP/EWM Electronic Warehouse Management Systems
• Complete safety training that consists of lock out; tag out, safety controls, forklift safety certification, and “Save My Life” permitting
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing required safety equipment

Requirements

• Experience in a production, warehouse, manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or military environment
• Forklift experience
• High school diploma or GED

Skills

• One (1) year or more of operating heavy industrial equipment
• Shipping and receiving computer/handheld scanner experience
