What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Logistics Manager to lead and optimize all shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations across our two divisions: Strong Hold (industrial cabinetry) and Utility Metals (light poles).
Responsibilities:
- Lead all shipping and receiving operations for both Strong Hold and Utility Metals divisions, ensuring efficient material flow from inbound raw materials through outbound finished goods.
- Oversee proper and safe material handling, loading/unloading, packaging, labeling, and stacking of raw materials and finished goods (including poles, hardware, and industrial cabinetry).
- Manage, develop, and mentor logistics teams, including drivers, warehouse associates, and production support staff, while fostering a strong safety culture and operational excellence.
- Direct floor shipping preparation, specialized pole and hardware packaging, order fulfillment, paperwork accuracy (B/Ls, manifests, etc.), and on-time truck loading.
- Manage the receiving process with a focus on accuracy against purchase orders, proper put-away, inventory integrity, and timely system updates.
- Analyze shipping orders, bills of lading, and other documentation to establish priorities, assign work, select optimal shipping methods, and consistently meet customer deadlines.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve logistics challenges; proactively collaborate with suppliers, carriers, production, and customer service to continuously improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.
- Drive process improvements, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across both divisions while maintaining compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience will be strongly considered).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in logistics or transportation within a manufacturing environment, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across departments and external partners.
- Solid understanding of warehouse and dock operations, including safe lifting/rigging practices.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30-hour training (dock safety focus preferred); RCRA hazardous waste training is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
