About the role
The Logistics Manager oversees all aspects of the company's transportation and fleet operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Driver & Personnel Management: Lead the full hiring cycle for drivers, manage compliance, and administer PTO requests.
- Fleet Procurement & Lifecycle Planning: Manage procurement activities, lifecycle planning, and coordinate specialized equipment.
- Fleet Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee preventive maintenance, manage vendor relationships, and analyze fuel usage.
- Outside Carrier & Vendor Management: Manage carrier relationships, conduct onboarding, and negotiate agreements.
Requirements
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 5+ years of logistics, transportation, or fleet management experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Experience with DOT compliance, driver qualification files, and FMCSA regulations
- Knowledge of fleet procurement, lease negotiation, and asset lifecycle management
Skills
Essential skills include:
- Strong working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Experience with carrier vetting processes, including insurance verification and safety score evaluation
- Proficiency with fleet management software, fuel card platforms, and toll administration systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and TMS/ERP systems
