Logistics Manager
Position Summary
Euroastry USA is seeking a results-driven Logistics Manager to lead and optimize transportation and distribution across our U.S. network, including operations in New York, New Jersey, and South Carolina. This role is critical in ensuring the reliable, cost-effective movement of frozen and fresh bakery products from our manufacturing plants to customers nationwide. In addition to domestic logistics, this role will oversee the coordination and transit of international container shipments from Euroastry facilities in Central Europe into the United States, ensuring seamless integration into the U.S. distribution network.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Distribution Management
Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics for multiple plant locations (NJ, NY, SC), ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods, including inter-warehouse transfers.
Manage distribution of frozen bakery products, ensuring product integrity and temperature-controlled compliance.
Optimize routing, load planning, and freight consolidation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Proactively address delivery disruptions, plant downtime impacts, and customer service risks.International Logistics & Import Coordination
Oversee end-to-end transit of container shipments from Euroastry facilities in Central Europe to U.S. ports and final destinations.
Coordinate with international freight forwarders, ocean carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure timely customs clearance, proper documentation, and compliance with all import regulations (FDA, USDA, CBP).
Monitor container tracking, port delays, demurrage/detention risks, and inland transportation to final delivery points.
Integrate imported goods efficiently into the U.S. supply chain and inventory flow.Carrier & 3PL Management
Manage relationships with domestic carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
Negotiate competitive freight rates and service agreements aligned with business needs.
Establish and monitor KPIs and SLAs for carriers, holding partners accountable for performance.
Resolve ongoing service failures and implement corrective actions.Cross-Functional Alignment
Partner closely with Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Warehouses and Plant Leadership to align logistics execution with production schedules and customer demand.
Support Sales and Customer Service teams with accurate delivery timelines and issue resolution.
Act as a key liaison between corporate leadership and plant operations to ensure seamless execution.Cost Management & Analytics
Own and manage freight spend (domestic and international), identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
Analyze logistics data (freight cost, service levels, lane performance) to drive continuous improvement.
Develop reporting dashboards to provide visibility to leadership on performance and trends.Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
Standardize logistics processes and implement best practices across all locations.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Support system improvements and integrations related to TMS/ERP/WMS platforms.Compliance, Safety & Quality
Ensure compliance with DOT, FDA, OSHA, CBP, and all applicable transportation and import regulations.
Maintain cold chain integrity and ensure adherence to food safety standards (GMP, SQF).
Promote a strong safety culture across all logistics operations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
5–8+ years of logistics or transportation management experience
Experience in food manufacturing, bakery, or temperature-controlled distribution strongly preferred
Experience managing international shipping, imports, and container logistics required
Multi-site logistics experience required
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of refrigerated/frozen logistics and distribution networks
Knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, customs clearance, and import compliance
Proven experience managing carriers, freight forwarders, and negotiating contracts
Experience with TMS, ERP, WMS, and data analytics/reporting tools (Tableau, Salesforce)
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Working Conditions
Based in Florham Park, NJ, with regular interaction across NJ, NY, and SC plant locations
Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, ports, and distribution partners
Availability to respond to urgent logistics or import-related issues as needed
