Logistics Management Specialist

About the Role

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate (AFNWC/NC) is seeking one full-time NH-346-03 Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) within the NC3 Integration Directorate. This position is located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB) in Colorado Springs, CO. The LMS will help modernize NC3 capabilities in support of strategic deterrence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist within the AF NC3 Sustainment Division, building, executing, and managing product support strategies.
• Interface with stakeholders from Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs), Air Force & Army Depots, Program Offices across AFNWC and AFSC, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and others to ensure successful product support.
• Lead acquisition and sustainment logistics support to multi-functional teams.
• Perform independently and lead teams in responding to frequent taskings with short deadlines to ensure program management and logistics issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Plan, manage, and coordinate total cradle-to-grave life cycle cost, schedule, performance, and logistics support for assigned systems or subsystems.
• Integrate separate functions of supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance into program activities required to sustain the system.
• Direct and determine support requirements including workloads, schedules, test equipment, facilities, skills, and training.
• Establish milestones and monitor execution throughout the project to ensure schedules are met, deficiencies are identified, and required adjustments completed.
• Develop Product Support plans and milestones as directed by policy and guidance to provide the best product for the user, ensuring effective and economical means of support are considered during all stages of a weapon system's life cycle.
• Lead, guide, and assess the logistics impact to acquisition programs, identify overall tasks to be performed, and take actions to meet requirements.
• Serve as the logistics technical advisor on contracts, developing comprehensive logistics evaluation criteria to measure contractor progress in meeting program objectives.
• Participate in contract administration ensuring compliance with contractual processes, procedures, and schedules.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Must have SECRET security clearance. If denied an upgrade previously, or downgraded from SECRET for other than administrative reasons, ineligible.
• Position designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Foundational certification in Life Cycle Logistics within the required timeframe.
• Drug testing designated position; incumbent subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing.
• Work may require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
• May be required to file an annual Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450 – Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
• This is a non-supervisory position.
• This is NOT a remote or full-time telework position. Majority of duties require in-office presence due to classified environment. Situational telework may be available as mission requirements dictate.
• Must be willing to relocate if not in the local commuting area.

Qualifications

• Strong background in weapon system acquisition and sustainment logistics with comprehensive knowledge of the 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and technical information of communications systems across the Air Force.
• Ability to communicate well and manage professional relationships with a multitude of stakeholders.

Skills

• Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support.
• Knowledge of safety, security, and the ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.
• Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Strong Logistics Management background as applied to DoD acquisition programs is desired.
• Strong NC3 domain experience is desired.
• Technical management and IPT Leadership experience desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.

Pay & Schedule

• Full-time NH-346-03 position.
• Colorado Springs Locality 2026 salary range: $91,870.00 – $142,022.00.
