Logistics Coordinator Tier I
About the role
Purple Wave is looking for a dynamic Logistics Coordinator Tier I to provide foundational support for freight operations. This role assists customers, carriers, and internal teams while accurately managing load setup and documentation. It serves as the entry point into the logistics coordinator career path and works moderately independently with the support of senior team members.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional customer service via phone to customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Use RMIS to onboard and manage carriers.
- Identify correct service providers for shipments and price services appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records in the quote log.
- Create contractual agreements between parties involved in the logistics process.
- Resolve shipping and contractual issues in a proactive and timely manner.
- Assist with phones as needed.
- Collect shipment details from sellers and buyers, including pickup and delivery information.
- Assign carriers with load information and generate required documentation.
- Schedule load-out and delivery times.
- Ensure shipments are picked up and arrive according to schedule.
- Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics and customer service preferred.
- Basic computer and internet skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with the logistics and/or transportation industry.
- Construction and Ag equipment knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Spanish-speaking bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Must be either a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must satisfactorily complete a background check.

Schedule
- Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
- Office hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Central Time Zone; additional hours may be required depending on priorities.
- Based in the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Pay
Salary typically is $50,000 per year, varying based on experience and qualifications.
Monthly Bonus Program determined by the Company’s monthly revenue results and paid on a “percent to plan” payout formula (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200).
