About the Role
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments to support manufacturing operations and customer requirements. This position ensures materials and finished goods are transported efficiently, shipping documentation is completed accurately, and transportation activities comply with applicable regulations. The Logistics Coordinator works closely with production, purchasing, customer service, warehouse personnel, and transportation providers to ensure on-time delivery and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including domestic and international freight.
- Obtain freight quotes and schedule transportation with carriers.
- Prepare Bills of Lading, packing lists, export documents, and other shipping paperwork.
- Monitor shipments and resolve transportation delays or issues.
- Coordinate shipping priorities with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Communicate shipment status to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and export requirements.
- Process freight claims and coordinate delivery appointments.
- Maintain shipping records and transportation documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency and reduce freight costs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of logistics, transportation, shipping, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with LTL, truckload, parcel, and expedited freight.
- Experience with shipping documentation and ERP systems preferred.
- International shipping and export documentation experience preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of transportation, logistics, and shipping processes.
- Understanding of shipping documentation, freight terms, and export requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and carrier management preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High degree of accuracy.
Physical Demands
- Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
- Position requires movement around the facilities.
- Occasional handling of material and components.
- Occasional lift items as heavy as 50lbs.
