Logistics Coordinator - Intermodal

This position is responsible for assisting internal and external customers with matters related to inland transportation of their cargo, by rail and / or truck. This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week, from Monday to Friday. The office is located at Two Lakeway, 3850 N. Causeway Blvd., Suite 1100, Metairie, LA 70002
Responsibilities
- Monitors information using MSC proprietary IT systems, MS Excel and Power BI.
- Liaises with intermodal customers, US customs and various MSC departments globally as needed.
- Communicates quickly and effectively with intermodal vendors.
- Analyzes data and considers performance modifications and implements strategies to support process efficiencies.
- Provides timely and accurate responses to all inquiries regarding transportation statues and updates.
- Observes corporate guidelines when addressing vendor and customer inquiries regarding shipments.
- Escalates unique or complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
- Utilize problem solving skills to solve unforeseen issues, while utilizing a proactive approach to minimize potential problems.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
