The Role Work Model: Onsite Work Schedule: Monday–Friday; approximately 40 hours per week, with overtime as scheduled Travel Requirements: No travel required Supervisory Responsibilities: No Reports to: Manager, Operations Summary / Primary Role The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring accurate order entry, receiving, shipping, documentation, and shipment tracking. This role supports the Operations team by maintaining timely and accurate shipment information, coordinating with carriers, drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel, and providing professional customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment. What You’ll Do We are seeking a dependable logistics professional who can effectively coordinate shipping and receiving activities, maintain accurate documentation, communicate with internal and external partners, and help ensure customer cargo moves safely and efficiently. Shipping & Receiving CoordinationCoordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments, including shipment bookings, appointments, order entry, receiving, and shipping activities. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation required for customer inventory and shipment processing. Monitor receiving and shipping schedules and maintain appointment logs. Confirm pickup and delivery appointments and ensure shipment information is updated accurately. Shipment Tracking & Operations SupportTrack and trace domestic and international shipments from pickup through final delivery. Update shipment statuses in applicable computer systems and communicate changes to customers, carriers, and internal teams. Monitor customer inventory levels and report relevant information to the Terminal Manager. Verify that required documentation is complete and accurate before releasing products for shipment. Customer & Carrier CommunicationCommunicate professionally with customers, vendors, drivers, carriers, shippers, and consignees by phone and email. Respond to questions, address service concerns, and help resolve shipment-related issues. Maintain consistent communication regarding shipment status, pickup and delivery information, and operational requirements. Report incidents, accidents, service failures, and claims to the appropriate team members. Team Collaboration & Administrative SupportCoordinate with warehouse employees, account managers, and other departments and divisions to support daily operations. Provide administrative and clerical support to the International Group as needed. Participate in cross-training and continuing education to remain current on company procedures and industry practices. Support additional operational projects and responsibilities as assigned by management. What You Bring High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, transportation, warehouse coordination, or a similar environment preferred. General trucking, LTL, intermodal, import/export, or transportation experience preferred. Transportation or metals industry experience is a plus. Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills. Ability to type approximately 50 words per minute. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Customer-focused approach with professional interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and resourceful. Compensation & Schedule Details Base Pay Range: $17.00–$18.00 per hour Bonus Eligible: No Commission Eligible: No No relocation allowance will be considered unless specifically addressed. The role routinely uses standard office equipment including computers, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines, and filing systems. The position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of computers and other office equipment. The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds and must be able to perform the physical activities reasonably necessary to carry out the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations available where applicable.
