Duties & Responsibilities
- Dispatch drivers for U.S. Domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
- Prioritize time sensitive cargo.
- Works closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements.
- Develops and maintains positive customer, contractor & company driver relationships.
- Works directly with customers on the receipt and processing of transportation requests.
- Utilizes various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning and scheduling.
- Handles dispatch with contractors, company drivers and partner carriers.
- Tracks and traces shipments from pick-up through delivery to ensure accurate and up-to-date shipment information is being provided to customers.
- Ensures problem resolution; including identifying issues, applying critical thinking to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions.
- Responsible for accurate data capture and system entry.
- Communicates effectively with customers, contractors, company drivers, partner carriers and team members.
- Promotes the DSV Road Transport brand.
- Assists with new account start-ups.
- Adheres to all domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; logistics or transportation experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role.
- Experience coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers, and tracking freight through delivery.
- Familiarity with transportation systems or dispatch software and strong data entry skills.
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in typing and PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong English language skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication; Spanish is a plus.
- Intermediate mathematical skills with the ability to work accurately with numbers and data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and operational needs, including non-standard hours when required.
