Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with drivers & sales team daily to plan, organize, and execute efficient timing of truck routes.
• Manage and map out an efficient and effective route for drivers in accordance with company needs.
• Aids in monitoring and managing quantities of material being received.
• Maintains drivers' status and updates schedules accordingly.
• Updates, reviews, and sets routes frequently based on customer needs and requirements.
• Maintains driver efficiency for each load.
• Interacts with all departments and suppliers to diagnose and resolve potential delays and issues.
• Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and company policy.
• Provides customer service as needed to all suppliers, communicating in a helpful, respectful, and professional manner.
• Maintains GPS locations of all company trucks and containers to create the most efficient transportation means.

Qualifications

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check and credit check.
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
• Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands.
• A basic understanding of MS Office products.

• Work Environment: Office Equipment & Tools: Personal computer, multi-line phone, Laser printer.
• Physical Demand Level: Light to Moderate.
• Work Capacity: Lifting & carrying 35lb loads, bending, kneeling, and sitting for long periods.
• Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, touch and taste.
• Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, gripping, keyboard alignment.
