Logistics Coordinator

About the role

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating and optimizing the scheduling and dispatching of resources to meet service demands efficiently. This position involves effective communication, problem‑solving, and ensuring the timely and accurate execution of dispatch activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage fuel transport drivers’ schedules and routes, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Schedule product pickups and deliveries.
• Serve as the central contact point for both fuel transport drivers and customers, coordinating load and unload processes.
• Manage and monitor customer fuel inventories based on customer‑defined requirements.
• Oversee multiple trucks, customers, drivers, and routes, requiring extreme attention to detail.
• Monitor trucks and drivers once they’re en route and assist with any issues that arise during loads or unloads.
• Monitor email and phones at all times.
• Plan resources and forecast at least seven days out.
• Document all calls, deliveries, routes, and times for pickups and deliveries.
• Manage delivery timelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations for the transportation of hazardous materials.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly relay information to all involved parties.
• Analytical skills to problem‑solve and coordinate difficult situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed while sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds at a time.
