About the role

The Logistics Coordinator at Tillamook plays a crucial role in maximizing pick-up and delivery efficiency while optimizing transportation costs. This position focuses on managing the logistics of transportation and distribution processes, ensuring that all sale, transfer, and purchase orders are scheduled, dispatched, and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain unassigned orders for specific locations and build them into efficient truck loads via the TMS.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the transportation department.
  • Schedule and coordinate the activities of TCCA drivers.
  • Ensure orders are dispatched to meet pickup and delivery dates as written.
  • Assign appropriate carriers via the TMS for each load, prioritizing cost and service.
  • Work with carrier partners professionally and appropriately.
  • Schedule delivery and backhaul of products across the transportation network.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet all pick-up and delivery needs efficiently.
  • Schedule delivery and pick-up appointments as needed.
  • Review and address quality concerns of rejected shipments and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Notify carriers of pending claims promptly and file these claims (including NCR submissions).
  • Affirm regulatory compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3 years of transportation experience required.
  • 3 years of experience in a TMS program preferred.
  • Office administration experience required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ERP, TMS, and WMS systems.
  • Expertise in DOT regulations related to general freight transportation.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3 years of transportation experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a TMS program.
  • Office administration experience.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office certifications preferred.

Skills

  • Computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Share Point.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ERP, TMS, and WMS systems.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations related to general freight transportation.
  • Initiative to achieve expert level in TMS and other frequently used programs within a minimal amount of time.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
