It addresses challenges in traditional agriculture by growing produce indoors without pesticides, using less space, and protecting crops, thereby benefiting the environment and consumer health. The company maintains a network of eight high-tech farms and distributes fresh lettuce products to over 4,500 retail stores across multiple regions including the East Coast, Midwest, and South.
About the Opportunity
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing logistics across the supply chain to ensure efficient transportation and delivery of products. This role supports the organization by coordinating shipments, securing carrier capacity, monitoring transportation issues, and maintaining documentation. The position contributes to smooth supply chain operations and helps maintain customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation operations across all greenhouse locations
- Plan and optimize shipments including mode selection and routing
- Secure carrier capacity to meet shipping schedules
- Schedule and manage pickup and delivery appointments
- Monitor shipments and proactively manage delays or issues
- Communicate shipment status and operational updates to stakeholders
- Maintain shipment documentation such as Proof of Delivery and temperature records
- Build and maintain carrier relationships, monitor performance, and escalate issues
- Coordinate special transportation requests including samples and donations
- Review freight invoices and support freight claims
- Generate transportation reports and monitor KPIs
- Support transportation sourcing activities and maintain routing guides
- Develop and improve logistics Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist in new customer launches and network expansions
- Provide remote and occasional onsite operational support
- Ensure compliance with policies, food safety, and transportation regulations
- Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call schedules
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience
- Experience with supply chain software such as TMS, WMS, ERP
- Knowledge of transportation modes, Hours of Service regulations, and equipment constraints
- Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis capability
- Ability to interpret industry documentation
- Self-starter capable of working remotely with minimal supervision
Approximately 10% travel required via various transportation modes.
