Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cook up domestic and international shipments of components and finished goods.
  • Arrange transportation with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Manage import and export activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, export declarations, and customs documentation.
  • Cook up international shipments by air, ocean, and ground transportation.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and update ERP system transactions related to receipts and shipments.
  • Evaluate carrier, broker, and freight forwarder performance and recommend improvements when appropriate.
  • Utilize standard logistics related KPIs to measure on-time deliveries and shipment performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain processes.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of logistics, transportation, shipping, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience coordinating international shipments and working with freight forwarders and customs brokers required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of domestic and international transportation methods, including air, ocean, parcel, and LTL/FTL freight. Understanding of international trade regulations, customs processes, Incoterms®, export documentation, and import requirements. Ability to coordinate multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to build effective relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and customers.

Work Environment
