About the role
The Logistics Coordinator performs physical and combined administrative/physical tasks involved in storing, counting, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and involves packaging, receiving, shipping, and moving materials through the warehouse process.
Responsibilities
- Check delivered materials for accuracy and move pallets to holding areas, sorting by product type.
- Ensure oldest material is delivered to receiving first.
- Package parts using established standards, ensuring travel cards remain with parts and labels are routed correctly.
- Determine re-use condition of packaging and re-use per established standards.
- Package material for shipment, ensuring accuracy of product and paperwork.
- Stock material on shelves with accuracy and neatness.
- Label problem parts and route them to the appropriate area.
- Examine boxes/labels to determine receivable type and enter product information into systems.
- Assist in training new employees on work procedures and rules.
- Maintain a clean work area and audit kits for accuracy.
- Perform all tasks involved in the distribution flow of material, supplies, and equipment.
- Verify goods received against bills of lading, purchase orders, or other documents.
- Provide work leadership to other logistics associates and may serve as lead.
- Communicate with inspectors, buyers, production personnel, and materials group.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required, with a minimum of 2+ years of related experience.
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities/differences between words and number series.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to handle standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
- Thorough understanding of the entire distribution system and strong computer skills to ensure accuracy in material flow.
- Demonstrates functional and/or process knowledge and participates in process improvement.
- Awareness of Flex technologies and techniques.
- Forklift training and certification (pallet rider, order picker) required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
