About the role

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily transportation and logistics operations to ensure efficient, safe, and timely service delivery. This position serves as the primary point of communication for drivers, coordinates daily routes and schedules, monitors operational performance, maintains DOT compliance records, and works closely with Operations to resolve issues while ensuring the highest standards of security, confidentiality, and customer service are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily routes, manifests, work orders, and driver paperwork.
  • Communicate route changes, schedule updates, and operational information to drivers throughout the day.
  • Monitor driver progress and resolve operational issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate driver schedules, PTO requests, and route coverage. Transportation Manager approves or denies PTO.
  • Track route completion and communicate delays or service issues to management.
  • Maintain route efficiency by organizing daily workloads and optimizing driver assignments and timeframes.
  • Assist Human Resources with monitoring DOT compliance requirements, including medical card expirations, driver's license renewals, and required documentation.
  • Assist Logistic Coordinator Lead with maintaining driver qualification files and transportation records.
  • Prepare paperwork for new driver assignments and route changes.
  • Coordinate the distribution, collection, and tracking of company-issued handheld devices, scanners, tablets, and other assigned equipment.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information in routing, dispatch, and company software systems.
  • Ensure required paperwork is completed, submitted, and filed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure exceptional service.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, customer, and company information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; preferred some college in business, Logistics, or supply Chain.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, operations, or a related administrative role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn company-specific software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry office materials and supplies.
  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Pay and schedule

  • Hourly pay at $20.00 an hour.
  • Full-time position.
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and local, state, and federal background checks.
