Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret logistics data to allow for efficient production and/or schedules and delivery of product while containing costs
- Support production operations by maintaining smooth and compliant movement of parts and finished goods into the facility
- Maintain Foreign Trade Zone operation and compliance and tariff code classification for import and export
- Review trends and anomalies that can be used to identify logistics improvements and communicate information to appropriate individuals and entities, both internal and external
- Prepare and compile reports for submission to various federal agencies
- Classify product for both import and export purposes
- Conduct internal audits to ensure that the company is in compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations
- Assist other departments with shipping or receiving transactions
- Plan and/or conduct projects related to cost or compliance improvements
- Analyze requirements, procedures and problems to identify improvement opportunities
- Communicate with all levels of the organization, freight companies, Customs brokers, and suppliers to maintain a reliable supply chain
- Partner with other departments to ensure timely completion of projects
- May be responsible for scheduling and managing inbound deliveries
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics, internal logistics, and/or supply chain
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent experience in transportation, supply chain, and/or import/export operations
- Ability to display appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications
- Familiarity with C-TPAT or Foreign Trade Zones is preferred
