Summary
Stage, load, and unload finished products and raw materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate various types of vehicles, including box trucks and vans, to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving, promoting a safe working environment.
- Assist in moving items as needed during loading and unloading processes.
- Support shipping area activities, including packing, labeling, organizing, and staging materials for shipment.
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties in warehouse, shipping, and work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Support other operational, warehouse, shipping, and facility-related duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Previous experience in commercial driving or related fields is advantageous.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as required by delivery schedules.
- A commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations.
Physical/Medical Requirements
- Must pass a DOT physical.
- Must be able to pass a background and DMV check per DOT guidelines.
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
