Logistics Clerk
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a combination of manual and administrative shipping and receiving functions in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials and shipments.
- Utilize computer systems and logistics databases to track, log, verify, and report inventory movements and shipment activity.
- Review and verify part numbers, serial numbers, packing slips, shipping documents, and contractual requirements for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of materials received, shipped, and transferred.
- Process bills of lading and update shipping information within logistics management systems.
- Follow established shipping, receiving, transportation routing, scheduling, and compliance procedures.
- Utilize multiple databases and systems to obtain required approvals, liability sign-offs, and shipment authorizations.
- Cooky/carry out coordination with internal departments, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Investigate and report discrepancies related to shipments, documentation, inventory counts, or damaged materials.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving records in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory control preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify documentation and inventory information.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required and perform warehouse-related duties.
