Logistics Associate/West Coast

Essential Functions

• Enters and updates inbound and outbound shipments into vendor’s system
• Coincide with client to schedule return pickups from their locations
• Request clarification or advise supervisor of issues related to shipping data
• Confirm with vendor the status of hot shipments and relay information to client
• Quote shipments with all freight companies and confirm the most economical rate
• Organize all BOL and complete shipments
• Interact with departmental and other staff on matters affecting logistics data
• Make recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in logistics data

• Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
• Other locations may include warehouse environments and are regularly exposed to heavy machinery and noise.

Physical Demands

• Walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continually during work hours.
• Subject to lifting over 10 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position.
• Days and hours is work are Monday through Friday 12:00pm to 9:00pm to provide assistance for West Coast operations.
• Occasional evening and weekend work are required as job duties demand as well as a 24/7 rotational on-call schedule.

Travel

• No travel is required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• A High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a related field
• An Associates Degree
