About the role
The Sales Director manages the opportunity from sales pursuit to close using deep sales process and offering expertise. They develop relationships with key buyers and decision makers at new and existing client projects and grow the business. They act as the point of contact for resolution and escalation of all key items with the client and internally.
Responsibilities
- Provides solutions to complex business problems for areas of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
- Involved in setting strategic direction to establish near term goals for area of responsibility.
- Interacts with senior management levels at a client and/or within Accenture, which involves negotiating or influencing significant matters.
- Has latitude in decision making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
- Manage large teams and/or work efforts if in an individual contributor role at a client or within Accenture.
- Actively originate new business opportunities and secure new client logos through industry expertise and network of contacts.
- Cultivate and leverage a strong network within the retail industry to identify new sales opportunities.
- Develop value-led sales strategies that address critical challenges in the retail space.
- Position Accenture's retail capabilities and thought leadership to differentiate in competitive sales scenarios.
- Apply deep retail industry knowledge to create compelling proposals and presentations that resonate with client executives.
- Navigate complex retail buyer landscapes, identifying and engaging key decision makers.
- Bring an understanding of current retail market dynamics, competitive pressures, and emerging industry trends to sales conversations.
- Provide industry context and credibility in client meetings, drawing on practical retail knowledge.
- Collaborate with Accenture's industry, technology, and delivery experts to craft solutions that address specific retail business needs.
- Track and analyze retail industry developments to identify potential sales opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in sales for a large Consulting, Technology and/or Outsourcing Services provider with deep expertise in the retail industry.
- Minimum of 8 years’ Sales Pursuit Management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct sales with quota preferably in excess of $20M+.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience).
Qualifications
- Proven track record of originating and closing new business with new clients/logos.
- Extensive network of contacts within the retail industry.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex retail organizations and engage with C-suite executives.
- In-depth understanding of retail operations, technologies, and industry trends.
- Strong sales capabilities with experience leading complex sales pursuits from qualification to close.

Pay
Annual salary range: $136,800 to $237,600
Schedule
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 75% depending on business need and client requirements.
