Log Yard Technician

About the role

Clendenin Lumber Co., located in Donalds, SC, is a leading manufacturer of hardwood lumber and part of The Baillie Group, a cohesive group of hardwood producers working cooperatively together while retaining their distinctive and valued cultural identities. This is an opportunity to join a growing team as a Log Yard Technician.

Responsibilities

• Operate a front-end loader and knuckle boom to unload and load trucks.
• Grade and scale logs per company guidelines.
• Scale, trim, and prepare logs.
• Operate a chainsaw.
• Operate a handheld data recording device.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an equipment operator, preferably in a log yard environment or at a logging operation.
• Self-motivated and organized.
• Strong communication skills and familiarity with working in a team-based environment.
• Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
• Must maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
