Locums Neurosurgeon

About the role

This position involves providing in-house call coverage in an inpatient neurosurgery setting at a stroke-certified hospital. Responsibilities include responding to calls within 15 minutes, managing approximately 15 patients per shift, and conducting 2-5 phone consultations daily. Rounding and general adult neurosurgery skills are required, with a focus on spinal surgery without instrumentation in cervical and thoracic regions.

Responsibilities

• Call coverage of 3-7 days per month
• Inpatient practice with rounding responsibilities
• Manage acute neurosurgical cases in a hospital setting
• Provide timely responses and consultations

Requirements

• Must be stroke certified and skilled in general adult neurosurgery and spinal procedures
• Rounding and general adult neurosurgery skills required, with focus on spinal surgery without instrumentation in cervical and thoracic regions

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in neurosurgery, spinal surgery (cervical and thoracic)
• Ability to respond quickly to calls
• Excellent communication and patient management skills
