Locum Veterinary Receptionist
About the role
Our Locum Veterinary Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring each client receives the care and attention they need. They greet and make friendly eye contact, offering warm and professional acknowledgment, and ensure clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for appointments.
Responsibilities
- Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens.
- Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
- Assess each client's rare need and the pet's general condition upon arrival.
- Determine if an emergency arrival is a "stat" or "standard" emergency.
- Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
- Confirm all appointments in advance and ensure clients receive accurate information.
- Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must be an excellent customer service professional, offering guidance, comfort, and support. You should be calm and compassionate, especially in emotionally challenging situations. Strong communication skills are essential, including clear, slow, and calm speaking abilities both in person and on the telephone.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $18.90 - $29.00 per hour, depending on experience and advancement through our leveling system. Shift differential pay is also offered for eligible hours worked on nights and weekends.
Schedule
This role is available on a Per Diem basis.
