Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist

About the role

This role involves providing hospital-based care for adult patients, performing procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and small bowel biopsy. You will manage inpatient admissions, consultations, and outpatient referrals.

Responsibilities

• Perform upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and small bowel biopsy
• Manage inpatient admissions and consultations
• Handle outpatient referrals
• Oversee approximately 16 scheduled patients daily
• No weekend clinic coverage required
• Assignment management through an online portal
• 24-hour access to a dedicated consultant

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm. Call coverage on the 1st and 3rd weekends with a 10% callback rate.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• Experience in adult hospital medicine
• Proficiency in endoscopic procedures
• Comfort with inpatient care and outpatient referrals

IBD training preferred. Experience with ERCP and EUS is a plus.
