Locum Psychiatrist Position

About the role

Full-time locum tenens position for a board-certified psychiatrist with fellowship training, covering both outpatient and inpatient settings on an acute psychiatric unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage admissions and provide follow-up care
• Round on unassigned patients
• Handle involuntary commitments
• Administer ECT (electroconvulsive therapy)
• Apply seclusion therapy and restraints when necessary
• Conduct weekday clinics with weekend and evening call duties
• Average daily caseload of up to 18 patients, with an 18:2 follow-up to new evaluation ratio

Requirements

• Fellowship training in psychiatry
• Board certification in psychiatry
• Experience with involuntary commitments

Skills

• Acute psychiatric care
• Inpatient and outpatient management
• Familiarity with psychiatric procedures (ECT, seclusion, restraints)
