About the role
A locum tenens psychiatrist position is available in Duluth, MN. The schedule includes Monday through Friday clinic work with weekend and evening call responsibilities. The maximum number of patients seen per day is 18, with a follow-up to new evaluation ratio of 18:2. The role involves coverage for an acute psychiatric unit, which includes both inpatient and outpatient care. Admissions are required, and the psychiatrist will round on unassigned patients. Familiarity with ECT, seclusion therapy, and restraint application, as well as involuntary commitment experience, is essential. Fellowship training is required, along with board certification.
Responsibilities
- See up to 18 patients per day with a follow-up to new evaluations at a 18:2 ratio
- Coverage for an acute psychiatric unit, including inpatient and outpatient care
- Admit patients as needed and round on unassigned patients
- Apply for ECT, seclusion therapy, and restraint as necessary
- Manage involuntary commitments as required
