Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt, thorough medical evaluations and stabilize patients with various emergencies.
- Perform diagnostic assessments, including physical exams and ordering tests like X-rays and CT scans.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including emergency procedures such as suturing and wound care.
- Prescribe medications, manage pain, and coordinate care with healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Remain calm and professional in high-pressure environments, demonstrating strong clinical judgment.
Qualifications And Skills
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school with board certification in emergency, internal, or family medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the practice state.
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and resource management skills.
- Ability to perform emergency procedures and work efficiently under pressure.
- Minimum of one year of emergency department experience preferred.
This Role Involves
- Providing scheduled shifts without call obligations, typically 5 days of 8 hours each.
- Working in an acute care hospital environment, addressing a diverse range of urgent medical needs.
