Locum | Physician Gastroenterology

About the role

A Minnesota facility is seeking a locum tenens gastroenterologist to fill an inpatient GI hospitalist role. The schedule is a 7-day inpatient block format from Friday 5pm to Friday 5pm. The daily caseload is expected to range from 8 to 10 patients, which includes both consults and procedures. There is potential to add 4 to 8 outpatient scopes per week. General GI procedures are required, with ERCP/EUS available. Teaching is also part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient cases in a hospital setting
• Treat a mix of consults and procedures
• Add 4 to 8 outpatient scopes per week
• Perform general GI procedures, including ERCP/EUS
• Involvement in teaching activities

Requirements

• Absolutely required: ACLS certification

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
• Experience in inpatient GI hospitalist care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
