Locum | Physician Anesthesiology
About the role
In an inpatient practice setting, including both inpatient and outpatient rounding, the role involves supervising a team of 1 Medical Director Anesthesiologist (MDA) and 2-3 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) per day. The schedule includes 10-15 patient cases per shift, 10-12 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, and 24-hour weekend call from Friday 6 AM to Monday 6 AM. The position requires skills such as central line, arterial line, and post-operative extremity block placement, and covers a variety of procedures including MAC, general anesthesia, endoscopy, gastroenterology, orthopedics, regional anesthesia, and pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of 1 MDA and 2-3 CRNAs per day
- Manage 10-15 patient cases per shift
- Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Handle a range of anesthesia procedures including MAC, general anesthesia, endoscopy, gastroenterology, orthopedics, regional anesthesia, and pediatrics
- Perform central line, arterial line, and post-operative extremity block placements
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in anesthesiology and meet the following requirements:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in anesthesiology
- Experience in managing a variety of anesthesia cases
- Proven ability to supervise a team of CRNAs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
