About the role

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Hematology/Oncology physician in Lewisburg, PA. Position: Physician; Specialty: Hematology/Oncology; Start Date: November 23, 2026; Length: 13 weeks; Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with blood disorders and various cancers, including administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and other treatment modalities.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients, including developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, managing side effects, and coordinating care with other specialists.
• Consult with other physicians and members of the healthcare team on complex hematological and oncological cases.
• Provide patient education about diagnoses, treatment options and disease management, to support informed decision-making.
• Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed and provide ongoing support.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Requirements

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school; residency in internal medicine accredited by ACGME or AOA; fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
• Licensure & Certification: Board certification in hematology and/or oncology by ABIM or AOBIM; active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania.
• Experience: At least one year of clinical experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong understanding of Hem/Onc principles, treatments and procedures.
• Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex information to patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Expertise in performing and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
