Schedule and Coverage

• Shift coverage: Scheduled + No Call
• Shift schedule: Standard 5, 8-hour shifts, 08:00 - 17:00

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with electrical abnormalities of the heart, such as arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.
• Perform electrophysiology studies (EPS), catheter ablations and device implantations like pacemakers and defibrillators.
• Manage patients with implantable cardiac devices, including routine follow-ups and troubleshooting device malfunctions.
• Work closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient care.
• Provide emergency care for patients experiencing life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

• Expertise in performing complex procedures, such as radiofrequency ablation and device implantation.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
• Completion of a fellowship in cardiology, with a subspecialty fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Qualifications

• Board certification in cardiovascular disease with additional certification in clinical cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania.

Experience

While specific requirements may vary, most locum electrophysiologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
