Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat patients with electrical abnormalities of the heart, such as arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.
  • Perform electrophysiology studies (EPS), catheter ablations, and device implantations like pacemakers and defibrillators.
  • Manage patients with implantable cardiac devices, including routine follow-ups and troubleshooting device malfunctions.
  • Work closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient care.
  • Provide emergency care for patients experiencing life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Completion of a fellowship in cardiology, with a subspecialty fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
  • Board certification in cardiovascular disease with additional certification in clinical cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Oregon.
  • At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting (preferred).

  • Comprehensive understanding of cardiac electrophysiology and related procedures.
  • Expertise in performing complex procedures, such as radiofrequency ablation and device implantation.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions, particularly in emergency cases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.

Schedule

  • Standard 4-day, 8-hour shifts (07:00 – 15:00).
  • Scheduled coverage plus on-call required.

Pay

$325/hour – $400/hour.
