Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat and manage urological disorders such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones and prostate issues
- Perform various surgical interventions including cystoscopies, nephrectomies and prostatectomies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide consultation services to other members of the medical team regarding critically ill patients
- Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Skills
- Strong expertise in performing a range of both surgical and non-surgical urological procedures
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex urological conditions
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Residency training program in urology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Fellowship training in a urology specialty may be required
Certifications
- Board certification in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS)
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania
Experience
Most locum urology positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
Pay
$3000/day - $3300/day
