Locum Consultant in Anaesthesia & Theatres

About the role

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is seeking a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist to fill 12-month posts arising from maternity leave. The role offers opportunities for additional sub-specialty interests in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Pain Medicine, and Regional Anaesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Provide anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery
• Assess and manage pain in patients
• Contribute to teaching, research, and quality improvement activities

Requirements

• Full GMC Registration
• A license to practise
• Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register
• UK-trained applicants must have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview
• Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) route doctors must have the substantive consultant post awarded before applying
• Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training
