Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon

About the role

This position is for a Board‑Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon who will provide inpatient surgical services on a 24‑hour call basis. The surgeon will perform procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and aortic dissections, averaging 1 to 1.5 cases daily. The role is on‑site at a large hospital equipped with modern surgical infrastructure and established cardiothoracic surgery protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, TAVR, and aortic dissections.
• Maintain a 24‑hour call schedule to ensure continuous patient coverage.
• Collaborate with a team of 3–4 advanced practice clinicians to deliver high‑quality, continuous patient care.
• Adhere to the hospital’s established protocols and quality‑outcome initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board certification in cardiothoracic surgery.
• Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive inpatient surgical care.
• Experience handling a high volume of complex cardiothoracic cases.

Schedule

24‑hour call basis, providing continuous inpatient surgical coverage.
